May: A Month of Finales

I haven't blogged for a very long time. So this will be a blog of many updates and events. Kensie and Ellie had their dance recital the 18th of May. They did an excellent job. They both just LOVE dance. They enjoy going every week and love performing even more. I think their favorite thing is getting awards and trophy's at the end of the year for 100% Attendance. We were joking that I should get a golden steering wheel or something for taking them to all their dance functions. I sure run them around a lot around recital time. I did have help from Kristen and my mom this year. I would have to share my golden steering wheel with them. Thanks ladies.

Kensie and Ellie also played softball with a local rec league. Kensie was hitting on pitching machine. She did pretty well for her first year. They played 6 games and she only had 1 game that she struck out both times at bat. She usually connected with the ball for a short hit at least. She wasn't super aggressive on defense and rather picked dandelions out in the field than play. She claims that she doesn't want to play next year. I am just happy that she gave it a try. Ellie loved T-ball. She didn't want to miss a practice and LOVED the games. She enjoyed hitting and got pretty good at it. Ellie loved defense and stopping the ball. Along with everyone else on her team. It was usually a race to the ball to see who could get it first. I'm pretty sure that she will want to play again next year.

Last, but not least, school's out for the summer. Kensie completed first grade and did great. Ellie finished preschool and will miss it. Ellie had a program for preschool to wrap things up for the year. We had to miss the program due to a family vacation. So Carl and I went to her preschool a few days before the program and watched them practice. They did a good job. They were so cute. I felt bad that she was doing to miss the actual program. But we were able to hear her do her part and sing her solo at the practice. Next year we will have 2 in school. Twice the homework. YUCK for mom. I guess I better enjoy helping them while I can. I'm pretty sure they are going to be smarter than me in a few years!!!!

Sophie enjoyed running the girls to softball, dance and school. May got especially busy. We did so much end of the year stuff, she just got worn out. She fell asleep in the car a lot and even fell asleep at the counter while I was making dinner. Poor little girl!!! It's rough being the youngest of 3 busy girls.

What well rounded girls you have. First in their frilly cute tu-tu's and then playing softball. Awesome! They are adorable and it was so great seeing you all in Florida!

HEY! I enjoyed your post! You guys are cute! I had to laugh at the sleeping beauty- maybe you should share the "golden steering wheel" with Sophie!
I swear we live parallel lives! Good times! Could you imagine how boring life would be without 5 million places to be everyday? We are glad to be outta school too. This summer will give us new strength and courage to do it all over again next year, right!? Love your family! Can't wait to see the "Florida" blog!!! Love ya! SHAN

Sorry it's been awhile since I've checked anyone's blogs so I'm a little behind on everyone's happenings. Your girls look so cute in their Dance Costumes. It was fun dressing them and doing their makeup for their different performances. Poor Sophie. what a trooper though.
