Feeling Inadequate

I have been in my own little world the last 3 weeks. I have had a lot on my mind. I was just put in as Young Womens president in our ward. And I have no idea what I am doing. I have had trouble sleeping. As a busy mom, I usually sleep like a rock. But I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I wake up and all I can think about is what I need to do for Young Womens. Holy cow, there is so much to do. New Beginnings needs to be planned. Wednesday activities. Presidency meetings. Class presidency meetings. Teaching the YW how to be organized and how to function as a presidency. Help them feel the spirit. Help them gain their own testimony. New Personal Progress program. 8 values?! Birthday ideas for the girls. Getting a camp director. CAMP!?!? Super activity this summer. Temple trips. Getting to know these amazing girls. Learning from these amazing girls and women that I work with. Still working outside the home. Still working inside the home. Helping out in my girls classrooms. Get well wishes. Thank yous....... Did I mention that I was a little overwhelmed.

I am hoping that these feelings of inadequacy will calm after I get things organized and running. Maybe I will be a sleepless zombie for the next few years. I just hope that my own girls survive their parents being gone a bunch. Carl is in the Stake Young Mens. He has only been in for a few months, but he is BUSY. We rarely see him on Sundays. He is in charge of the Scouts. So he has Kondike. Other camps. Meetings on Tuesdays, Wed, some Sat. I really thought that I would be exempt from a calling in YW. (At least for now). That is what I get for thinking.

Wish me and my family luck. If you have any ideas for YW let me know. We are in for a wild ride.

Christmas Vacation (A Belated Post)

So it has been a month since Christmas. I think that it is about time that I posted something about our Christmas Vacation. The girls had a few weeks off of school. The day that they got out for Christmas Vacation, we headed to SLC for a little fun. We went to Temple Square to see the beautiful lights.

We were adventurous and went ice skating. The girls all had a blast. I would not have been able to walk in the morning if I had fallen as much as them. But they were troopers and would get up and go again. They were a bit sore the next day, but they were able to get out of bed. I know they had fun because they are still talking about ice skating.

We also had time to go see Santa for a few requests. I think that this is the first year that Sophie would sit on his lap and talk to him. I can't believe she is getting so big. So fast.

We had a great time in SLC. We got to see beautiful temple square, ice skate, shop, see Santa and spend time with family. We enjoyed our weekend away.

Makenna Day

Nine years ago, our oldest daughter, Makenna Lyn was born. That was also the same day that she returned back to her Heavenly Father. Our girls know today as Makenna's birthday. I like to refer to it as Makenna's Day. Even though our sweet little girls was only on earth and part of our earthly life for a brief moment. She has made a HUGE impact on our family and our life. How blessed we are to know of our Heavenly Father's plan for us. That we can be a Family Forever! I have many bittersweet memories of this day, 9 years ago. But I wouldn't change what I have learned. We love you, Makenna! Happy 9th Birthday!

Kensie's Violin Recital

Kensie had her first violin recital a few Saturday's ago. She was a bit nervous. But she did really well. She was the first one to perform. She told me that she was so nervous that she could hardly breath. I told her that she was lucky to be first so she could relax for the rest of the recital. She played "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Variation A", like a champ. Way to go Kensie. She is now practicing for violin festival in February. I am happy to see her love the violin. I hope she sticks with it.

What Happens At Aunt Andrea's Doesn't Always Stay At Aunt Andrea's....

The other day, the girls were playing dress up and really enjoying themselves. They turned on the music and danced and had a ball. It was almost like I had my own personal Nutcracker performance. Well, Statton decided that he had to join in the fun. I was in the kitchen fixing a snack for the kids when Statton brought me a blue tutu that he wanted to wear. I knew that his father might possibly have a fit, but then I remembered that he was hundreds of miles away. So I helped him into his little tutu. Blair, if you read this, it was the only BLUE tutu amongst all the pink and purple. He chose the manliest one of the bunch. He had a blast will the girls. They danced their little hearts out and had a great time. Sometimes what happens at Aunt Andrea's house doesn't always stay at Aunt Andrea's. It was too cute not to share!

Festival Of Trees

It's that time of year that I donate quite a bit of money to the Festival of Trees. I would love to say that it is because we buy one of the beautifully decorated trees that they have on display. But no, it is not. We donate to get in to see our girls perform. Whether they are singing with their school class, dancing or playing a musical instrument. We try to make it to their performances. This year was the year for Ellie. She danced twice and sang once. She did a fantastic job. We enjoy watching our girls. Kensie was a little sad that she didn't take dance this year after watching the girls she would be dancing with perform. But she will have her day in the spotlight. Saturday is her violin recital. She has been working very hard to get ready for this day. I'll post about it later. Ellie had fun on the "big stage" as she likes to call it. Way to go Ellie.

Family Pictures

Every year I try to get a decent picture of the girls for a Christmas card. I end up giving up and spending extra money for them to be done professionally. This year was a little better. The girls did better. They were all smiling and looking at the camera for a few shots anyway. That 3 year old of ours is a bit of a stink. But she can be cute too.
